First Day of High School
I wake up one morning knowing it’s my first day of high school at St. Gregory. School started at 8 A.M. I was so excited and nervous wondering if the school work was going to be hard or easy. When I got to school the bell has already rung and I was late. I kind of laughed to myself being late to class on the first day. When I went to my first class which was Mr. Rolle’s biology. He looked at me and smiled and told me to take a seat. I was relieved as I knew he was giving me a break. On the first day, once everybody got settled in we got a paper with questions wanting to know us a little bit better. Once that was over Aaron made a hilarious comment and everybody started laughing. I knew from that he was going to be a troublemaker. Later, in the class we watched a video about Yellowstone National Park and how plants and animals go missing or go extinct in that area. It was kind of interesting to me. We had to also fill out a paper while watching it. Later, the class ended then we had to go to our advisory rooms.
Mine was in room 15 which was Dr. Shawn’s room. We had to spent 20 minutes in that room and all we did was play a game to learn each other’s names. After that was over we had a break before our next block. Once that break was over we had to go to B block which was Spanish for me. My teacher is Mr. Catalano.
Once I got in there he started talking all this Spanish everybody started laughing because we had no I idea what he was saying. I’ve never taken Spanish before so I was lost right from there. After that we picked a country and learned three things about that country. Then we just learned the simple things about the language of Spanish. After that class we had to go to C block. Which was Ms. Mount’s class. We didn’t really do anything but explain what we think about religion. That’s when Jafe and Garret started going off on their opinion is and they must of talked for like 30 minutes.
Once the bell rang I was so relieved because I thought they would never stop talking. Walking to lunch was kind of weird. The reason why I say this is because Jasim would always come up and rub my head for some odd reason. The food at St. Gregory was pretty good better than my old school, that’s for sure. I had their bacon cheeseburger that had to be the best school lunch I’ve ever had. But, very expensive at my old school it was only $2 and some of these lunches were like $7.25.
After lunch, We had to go to D block which was study hall. I already had homework the first day which was a drag but, I guess I have to get used to it. Ben and Benny kept laughing which got Mr. Carlson mad. It was really funny by then there was only 5 minutes left of class. I’ve finished all of my homework which was great. When the bell rang I was excited to go back to school the next day. I walked to the front of the school near the upper administration’s office. I saw my dad talking to Ben’s dad. After chit- chatting for a little bit it was time to go home. Once in the car and get on the road he asked me, “ Any cute girls over there for you?” I just laughed and said “ Yea but, none for me.” Once I got home and told my mom what a great time I had and how I couldn’t wait to go to school the next day.
